The Dance Classes are strongly recommended for everyone, and especially for anyone new to English Country Dancing. Your experience at The Jane Austen Evening, and that of your fellow dancers, will be much more enjoyable if you have a familiarity with the dances. AGE LIMIT:  Attendees must be at least 13 years of age to attend the Jane Austen Evening and dance c;asses. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is an adult event and children are expected to behave as adults.

The Society hosts dance classes on the two Sundays preceding the ball to instruct you in the dances that will make up the program. Both of the afternoon classes will provide basic, beginner-friendly instruction. The morning session of the second class is for intermediate and advanced dancers, and will guide them through the more challenging dances.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (no high heels) for the classes.
